Eat, Love, Laugh, Rest, Repeat

Author: Leading and Love

We wake up at 6 A.M. everyday and I usually start the day off doing or saying something silly. That silly thing makes my wife laugh and makes me laugh. If she doesn't laugh right away, I keep pushing and pushing until something works. Believe it or not, that little moment usually sets the tone for the rest of the day. There are other things that you should do including exercising, learning, and socializing but even those things work better when you eat, love, laugh, and rest.

Eating fuels the body. Love fuels the soul. When you laugh you put the energy your body has to good use. Resting allows you to do it all over again.

Idea #1

Your day is already packed with rules, routines, expectations and transactions. Don't skip out on the things that will keep you happy. We often sacrifice our happiness only to soon regret it.

Idea #2

Listen to your body, your mind and your spirit. They are always trying to convey valuable information. If your body demands rest, get some rest. Fifteen minutes uninterrupted can be a world of difference. If your mind feels jam packed with stuff, find a way to declutter quickly. My go to is some of the old comedy sketches that I knew made me laugh. All I need is a chuckle or a half smile to recompose. If your spirit asks for clarity then perhaps a time of prayer and/or meditation will help you level set.

Quote #1

“Sometimes you climb out of bed in the morning and you think, I’m not going to make it, but you laugh inside — remembering all the times you’ve felt that way.” — Charles Bukowski

Quote #2

"What drains your spirit drains your body. What fuels your spirit fuels your body." – Caroline Myss

Quote #3

"The higher your energy level, the more efficient your body. The more efficient your body, the better you feel and the more you will use your talent to produce outstanding results." – Anthony Robbins

Challenge

Keep a mental or physical record of your eat, laugh, and rest episodes during the day. How did you feel during those moments? Were they calculated or unintentional?
