Creativity

Author: Leading and Love

You might feel like you don’t have a lot of spare time. Among going to the gym to exercise, delivering on tasks at work, spending time with your spouse and children, giving back to the community, and getting some “me” time, there is only enough room left to grab as much sleep as possible. Some places of employment will position the flexibility to be creative as part of their value proposition. Your spouse most likely will expect some effort (aka as creativity) when planning for their birthday. And children are quick to tell you if something bores them.

Idea #1

You can be creative even in the routine stuff. It’s not to suggest that spending time with your spouse and children is just another kick at the can. It’s to understand that you can let your imagination and original ideas flow through the activities that are set to repeat daily.

Idea #2

Experiment a little and see what type of feedback you get. Perhaps trying out an original idea at the gym might help you tap into a new dimension of exercising that makes it fun and rewarding. And as your go through the experiment provide honest feedback to yourself. Sometimes we overlook the very feedback we give ourselves.

“A creative life is an amplified life. It's a bigger life, a happier life, an expanded life, and a hell of a lot more interesting life” - Elizabeth Gilbert

Quote #2

“You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” - Maya Angelou

Quote #3

“Don’t wait for inspiration. It comes while working." - Henri Matisse
