Giving

Author: Leading and Love

The last two years or so has seen us go from normal to a new normal. For some people, this change that was brought on by the global pandemic has completely rewired our experience, our perspective, and our expectations. The year is about to close and the holidays are expected to offer us a bit of a pause, where we typically slow down with work and ramp up time with friends and family. Almost naturally, we try to give our best to those around us, whether tangible or intangible things. And as if almost on cue, the new year comes around and we jump to trying to improve our personal lives, our marriages, and our relationships.

Idea #1

Giving is a never ending activity, as we will be required to give up something in order to achieve those things we set out to do.

Idea #2

Giving can be hard but it is necessary. Humanity has survived and thrived from the constant giving that takes place daily. The generations that follow rely heavily on what we are able to do today.

Quote #1

“You cannot give what you do not have.” -John Maxwell

Quote #2

“We must give more in order to get more. It is the generous giving of ourselves that produces the generous harvest.” -Orison Swett Marden

Quote #3

“It is every man’s obligation to put back into the world at least the equivalent of what he takes out of it.” -Albert Einstein

Challenge

Take a moment and consider how you can empower those around you.
