One of the most overlooked decisions we have to make is when to call it quits.
This includes jobs, hobbies, and relationships. Most people quit jobs when it impedes their quality of life. It could be that you’ve made enough money and you can live well without working another day, or everyday spent on the job is one day less you will feel you are alive. Some people will quit a hobby when they’ve grown tired of the rigor it puts on the body and mind. If you are a rock climber, after a certain age, it becomes really difficult to prepare and execute on a climb. People also quit relationships.Yes some relationships should be abandoned. Which ones? You will have to decide.
We can assume that as the year comes to a close, you will be scoring various areas of your life to see where they rank in value of what you want for yourself in the upcoming year.
Idea #1
Should you always quit while you're ahead? Quitting while you’re ahead usually signals that there is some impending danger. When you're behind, the purview stops at the folks just ahead of you. When you're ahead you can look further ahead and determine if continuing the rest of the way is really with it.
Idea #2
Don't quit when you're tired. The stress on the body alone will make you want to stop altogether. When you're worn out you naturally don't want to go further. But sometimes enough rest will reinvigorate the desire to move forward. If you're rested and you still don't want to go a single step further that means it's time for a change.
