Trust

Author: Leading and Love

Trust is arguably the most important aspect of any relationship. It’s safe to say that without trust there is no relationship. And the level of trust determines the direction of the relationship. Relationships with low levels of trust disintegrate. Relationships with high levels of trust persevere. Trust is vital in friendships, marriages, business relationships, and among employees or colleagues.

Idea #1

Trust is constantly earned. In most things, you don’t become better unless you engage in the activity. Trust grows through activity. Trust can be broken, but it can also be mended. Mending trust takes a long time and it might never look the same again.

Idea #2

It’s easier to find positive attributes in others, when we embody those attributes within ourselves. Trust is believing that something is true without ever knowing whether it is true.

Quote #1

“Keep your promises and be consistent. Be the kind of person others can trust.” -Roy T. Bennett

Quote #2

“Trust is the glue of life. It’s the most essential ingredient in effective communication. It’s the foundational principle that holds all relationships.” -Stephen Covey

Quote #3

"Trust each other again and again. When the trust level gets high enough, people transcend apparent limits, discovering new and awesome abilities of which they were previously unaware." -David Armistead

Challenge

Pay attention to the opportunities you are given to be trusted and choose to be trustworthy.
